New MacBook CEP
This document covers Mac configuration from the user's perspective. We will walk through the process step by step, including images to guide you along the way.Please unpack your new MacBook, plug it into the power adapter, and start it up.
Next, connect to the CEP-Deploy WiFi network (please contact CEP IT support for the password) and activate the Mac.
Please follow the on-screen instructions to set up the macOS language and keyboard configuration.
If prompted again to connect to the WiFi network, please connect to the CEP-Deploy WiFi network (please contact CEP IT support for the password).
Once the Mac is connected to the CEP-Deploy WiFi network, your Mac will proceed with the automatic enrollment through CEP Remote Management.
Click on "Continue."
At this window, please use your CEP credentials to create your account. For example, if your CEP email address is rcharbonneau@cep-experts.ca, your username for this window will be: rcharbonneau.
*If authentication appears to not be working, click on cancel, wait for about 1 minute, and try again *
At the next Windows you will be ask to create your local account. Use your CEP Password.
Please enable location services to adjust your Mac's time automatically according to your time zone.
At this login window, please use the same credentials used previously to log in to your user account.
For example, if your CEP email address is rcharbonneau@cep-experts.ca, your username for this window will be: rcharbonneau.
During the initial setup of the user account, you will be prompted to configure Touch ID. You can do it now or choose "Later" and set up Touch ID from System Preferences / Touch ID & Passcode.
Once the opening of your user session is complete, the automatic configuration of your Mac will be performed. Basic applications and settings will be installed. At the end of the process, your Mac will restart automatically. This may take several minutes.
Your Mac is now ready to be used.
You can proceed with the installation of additional applications and printers through the CEP - Self Service app (e.g., Office, Adobe, printers...).
CEP - Self Service is a tool that allows you to access and install software and updates on your own, without needing assistance from the IT staff. It provides a user-friendly interface that allows you to browse and install approved software, check for updates, and perform other tasks related to your device. The CEP - Self Service app is available in the Applications folder on your Mac and also from the Dock shortcut.
